Kenilworth castle

We’ve had a splendid day . Freezing cold but splendid .. and we even stood behind a hedge to eat our picnic ... I got my book on ‘circular walks of Warwickshire’ out and we thought ‘ohhhh that’s the one today ‘ . Little po drove and her car is playing up which added to the frisson ;-)) .. we like to live dangerously with a flat battery 12 miles from home .
I have been particularly enamored with a plot of land called The Pleasance... you can see a small portion in the extra photo I have added .. it’s the original moat to the mini kind of palace that Henry 8th built just 3/4 mile from the big castle and apparently he would ride there and go sulk . Loki and Bertie dog spent an awful lot of time throwing themselves in to the water . Anyway it was a 4.5 mile walk and it was fantastic. We will certainly do this one again.
We didn’t bother going into the castle grounds today , we shall save that . The last time I was here Flora ( Tits McGees baby) threw herself into a large gorse bush and lost 4 pints of blood at least ...
