County lines

A day trip to Thetford Forest. Mighty exciting to be travelling more than a few miles from Cambridge. I thought I was heading from Cambridgeshire to the ceremonial county of Norfolk, but apparently Brandon, where I started, is in Suffolk. A veritable feast of counties and a tri-border exciting enough to make the head spin.

Brandon is fairly bleak, but Thetford Forest is delightful. Highlights were copious amounts of toadspawn and toads in one of the large ponds at Lynford Hall, highland cattle with hairstyles people pay a lot of money for, and a grand avenue of sequoias.
