This is what happens when the local councils Health & Safety squad get their hands on a centuries old sandstone footbridge.
The brook that runs under it has recently had its banks ‘improved’ too. With Agent Orange by the look of it.
Btw the brook historically marked the boundary between two parishes.and the road by it is Twobutt lane, a Butt is an old word for a boundary.
