Romanticising and countermeasures
The air is filled with sound of gulls crooning ballads of love, nestbuilding and eggs. It is filled, too, with the sight of householders sealing off their chimney pots, and any other spots in their demesnes where gulls may settle, their aim being to avoid attacks by parent gulls when the chickadees hatch.
At least we have scaffolding on our roof at the moment, so there will be nae burds at oor hoose.
