Farewell
My blip today was going to be one of my old BBQ that has finally given up and rusted to non-functioning. Then the news appeared on the TV.
It seemed not right.
So, here is a picture of how I feel now, after the loss of the Duke of Edinburgh.
I met him (and the Queen) in 1986, at a Mess dinner held for the Queen when I was serving in the RAF. We had a chat about my job. As a transport specialist, he joked that we were responsible for losing his baggage on Royal trips. I suggested to him that he has never had a bag go missing on military flights. He agreed, winked and moved on to the next guest. He had a great (and wicked) sense of humour.
RIP Sir.
