Fringilla Papillomavirus

I noticed this male chaffinch in the garden is showing signs of Fringilla Papillomavirus on his legs.  The warty growths develop slowly over a long period and affected birds otherwise appear healthy.  Sadly some become lame and even lose the affected digits.

I was saddened to hear that Prince Philip had died this morning just two months short of his one hundredth birthday.
