HRH Duke of Edinburgh 10 June 1921- 9 April 2021

So sad to hear that HRH Prince Philip passed away this morning.

I have only knowingly seen him once and that was by pure chance as we were passing Westminster Abbey on 12 April 2001.

To quote the Royal Circular of that day: "The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Maundy Service in Westminster Abbey at which Her Majesty distributed the Royal Maundy. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr. Wesley Carr). The Right Reverend Nigel McCulloch (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Prebendary William Booth (Sub-Almoner) were present. The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeoman of the Guard were on duty."
