Half mast

Today started early with a routine trip into London for a hospital check-up. All ok thankfully. It was a beautiful bright morning, but the weather turned darker as we drove home. Then the news broke of the sad passing of the Duke of Edinburgh just a couple of months short of his 100th birthday.
I very briefly met him once, many years ago, when he visited a Design Council judging event of which I was a part. His personality and famed humour lit up the room. Such a loss to the Queen, the Royal Family and the country. RIP Prince Philip.
