Checking the estate

After yesterdays exertions today far quieter and less energetic. I still have some top soil to move but its currently covered up and very cozy on the drive, I do not propose disturbing today.
The high spot I suppose was a trip to Waitrose and getting the free newspaper. Several hours this evening sorted.
I had the first good poke around the garden since all that bad weather and I was pleased to see very little damage to the shrubs and trees that are flowering now or soon. The plum, forsythia and a small whited flowered shrub of unknown name are all out and doing well. Last years amelanchier's  the quince, magnolia and, as featured in the blip, a rhododendron are all filling out well as are the pear tree buds. All in all the garden looks ready to "pop" once we get some warm weather
