Work of art

For many years, I’ve admired this beautiful work of art
 ( I’m not sure what to call it....it’s not a painting, nor a photograph; not an embroidery nor a tapestry!)
It’s inlaid with mother of pearl and it depicts an Eastern scene.

My parents bought it in Vietnam, when they were travelling over there...
and although my husband and I travelled to 
Ho Chi Minh City, and sailed up the Mekong River.
I never saw anything similar to  it, for sale.....
perhaps we were  just never in the right sort of shop, or art gallery!!
