The Duke of Edinburgh. 1921 - 2021
As usual we bought the Yorkshire Post this morning
Inside there was a Special Tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh, who sadly passed away yesterday.
This is my favourite photograph.
Taken with the former Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, after the Royal Maundy Service at York Minster in 2012.
There was a lovely tribute written by John Sentanu , in which among other things, he described the Duke as someone who had a sense of humour, loved teasing people and loved speaking his mind .
“ Iam going to miss my old sparing partner.”
he said.
Today was another bright sunny morning, although only 5C.
We called to see our friends, K&A as it is their Golden Wedding Anniversary today.
A catchup in the garden.
Not quite the celebration they had planned over a year ago. They do like a big party.
Instead it will just be a very small celebration with their daughter and two grandchildren.
Last April was my sister’s Golden Wedding, and that celebration fell by the wayside too.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend, despite the cool weather.
Surely it will warm up again soon.
Great win by LUFC!
Manchester City 1. Leeds 2.
Well done Rachael Blackmore. The First Lady jockey to win the Grand National.
