Budleigh Salterton to Sidmouth

We left Budleigh by 7.45am, headed along the coast path by the estury, over the bridge and on towards Sidmouth, via Labram. The boss had camped there about 50 years ago, so good for him to see how it had grown. As always , chattered to a few other walkers, the most interesting one, was a man, looked a similar age to us,  who walked from home in Exmouth heading to sidmouth, and walked very briskey. He doesn't stop other than to pass the time of day with walkers and his round trip will be nearly 25 miles . We sat for an hour in Sidmouth, watching the numerous padle boards, canoes, and even swimmers, then as we turned to make our way back , temperature dropped and there was a hail storm. We went back via the green lane that leads to Otterton, then alongside the river Otter, looking out for any evidance of the beavers that inhabit the river ( apparently there are up to 15 family groups) . Got back to a call to ask us to  stand in the gapes while the young cows were brought back to the farm yard. Before we went in the house we walked down, helped with the cows and then back home to a welcome cup of tea!
