Spring Walk

We went into town today to take a walk with Ruth and Rose. The weather was delightfully sunny and except in exposed places the wind was light so it mostly felt warm as we walked, even without gloves, hat and scarf.
We decided to walk across town to Sälsten (seal stone), rather than risking the soggy forest paths, and we enjoyed many quiet back streets, on our way to the sea.
There was very little snow in town and the scilla and crocuses were blooming under hedges and in gardens.
Once we reached the sea there were a lot of families and groups at the picnic tables and around the fireplaces. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying this Sunday sun.
Part of the reason for this intense sun worship is the weather forecast, which informs us we will be getting steady snowfall tomorrow until we eventually have about 20 cm of new snow!  Even now the sky has turned grey as the first fringes of the low pressure front have arrived.
I can console myself with the fact that the rest of the week ahead is forecast to be dry and fairly sunny, so the snow will disappear within a couple of days. I can also be glad I'm not living in Tromsö in northern Norway. My TaiChi teacher, who does live there, tells me they have just had nearly a meter of fresh snow!!
