Rain

The sky darkened before the incident occurred, and we watched wide-eyed as our surroundings took on a stormy gloom. And then it happened, the late morning introduced a strange liquid that fell from the sky. It was accompanied by flashes of light and sudden loud crashes that rattled our windows. The winds howled from time to time and blew off branches from the trees. It was all quite exciting for our quiet seaside community, and though in time it all faded away, for a few hours we were completely entertained. 

It seems we experienced something called rain. It had been a long, long time since it last felt it’s refreshing feel and smell. So though we were inconvenienced for a short period of time, nature was relieved if only for the afternoon. It was the least we could do.
