This stone is found near Upland Road, the plaque reads:
The body of Sergeant Samuel MacDonald of the 93rd Regiment or Sutherland Highlanders was interred here on the 9th May 1802, having served his King and country for 24 years.
He died esteemed by his officers and beloved by his fellow soldiers in the 41st year of his age.
He measured when living 6ft 10ins in height was well proportioned and of uncommon strength.
He was a native of the county of Sutherland in Scotland.
