Chachalaca

I'm not much of a bird photographer, but when this West Mexican Chachalaca landed on our tree of heaven I had to take a few photos. We hear these raucous birds way more often than we see them as they tend to hide out in the tops of the tall, thorny La Ceiba trees. I tried to capture it in flight, but failed miserably so this static shot will have to suffice.
