Underneath the Arches
I opened the Zoom room at 7.45 this morning for our 8.00am class. Big day, as it was the last day of assessed teaching practice. The two trainees both have great lessons, one excellent actually, and I graded both of them 'above standard'. There were so many strengths in both their planning and the classes - lovely to see those trainees' progress! It made feedback easy for me and for their peers.
We had a bit of fun when the trainees then shared a song to either represent their experience of the course or how they feel at the end of the course - some great song choices! I'll add them later. I asked them to think about it over the weekend.
In the afternoon I finished marking their plans (front sheet, procedure - usually 4 pages; language analysis sheet, and then my overall feedback sheet and lesson grade. As that's assessed teaching practice now finished, I also upgraded the end-of- course suggested final grades, all the justifications necessary against the Cambridge criteria, and sent them to our assessor for approval. Fingers crossed. We need that approval before we can send the final grades to Cambridge. I always sigh a sigh of relief when we get the approval and as an assessor try to approve grades as quickly as possible as I know trainers are keen to get them.
A walk to end the day, 8.000 steps, could be better, but it's the start of the week and still time to make it up.
About to have dinner : Sunday chicken now Monday chicken, left over veg and, ahem, chips from our local Turkish place.
Good to see parts of the UK with fewer restrictions and hope people will be sensible.
My blip's part of our patio wall, under our stair arch. I like seeing where the light hits it at this time of year.
