'Can I take a picture of you?' I bantered

I was hoping to see a kingfisher again at Sellars Bridge over the Gloucester to Sharpness canal this afternoon. I waited but they didn't show. Instead the only boat to pass by was the narrowboat 'Daisy May'. Two women were standing at the front and we struck up an all too brief conversation, limited by the walking pace of their boat.

As the boat passed I shouted out to the helmsman and his friend asking if I could take a picture. Their smiles gave me permission. The dog at the back is staring at me with rather intense and wary eyes.
