A Messenger in Auntie's Tree

Dear Diary,

Cardinals are messenger birds for many Native American peoples and I always enjoy seeing one in Auntie's Tree.  It is, for me, a particularly good sign.  There was a pair of cardinals but I was only able to photograph the male properly.  I will try to get the female the next time they appear.  I think the are just as stunning as the males in the subtle russet hues.  A beautiful day in store  today and I will finish tidying up the studio so I can get back into it.  Then I will know spring is really here.
