Something to do on a rainy day

It has been a really miserable day outside today, so spent part of it checking some lichens gathered yesterday. These two crustose lichens can be found on almost any Ash branches in this area, but I had never looked at them so closely before. Exploring these miniature worlds and working out the different species, at my desk with a cup of tea and Britten's string quartets playing - what could be better on a rainy day!
