Tiny Tuesday: Drone Fly Eye Detail

This is one of those loud hoverflies that look like a bee but aren't really.  They tend to make a bit of a nuisance of themselves as they seem to like to aggressively buzz at the bumble bees bullying them away from flowers they are visiting.  The bumble bees tend to give up after a while and fly off to other nearby flowers in search of a quieter life.  I think we've all met people like the drone fly at parties in our time .... (back when we used to go to parties), and ended up wandering into a different room at the first available opportunity :-)

If fly details don't put you off, it is entertainingly detailed in large.
