Roadmap Out Of Lockdown Step 2 - Day 2

The first hot air balloons of the season passed overhead this evening, six in total, coming down to land in nearby school playing fields. A couple were so low that they only just skimmed over the roofs, and I could clearly see that even when hot air ballooning, masks have to be worn, as you can see in extras.

Today is the second day that shops, gyms, hairdressers, and pub gardens are open, but having seen how busy my local high street was (on the way home from the doc this morning, more tests in the offing!), I’m not in a hurry to visit any of them. Was shocked to learn that the family friend who’d recovered from Covid-19 in her care home last year, despite having been vaccinated, has now tested positive for the second time.

A day spent waiting and waiting. The gasman was due to visit between 12pm and 6pm. At 5pm he phoned to say that due to an emergency callout he wouldn’t be coming until next week! I pleaded our case and he’s now coming on Thursday, between 8am and 1pm. I foresee another day spent waiting...
