Service with a smile...

We were part of a brilliant event today, where we brought young people from across Scotland together to talk about the new single police service - Police Scotland - which comes into effect on 1st April.

It was so fabulous to watch the young people sharing their experiences, views and ideas with the most senior staff in the new service - including the Chief Constable himself. So many brilliant suggestions - and such insight - it was just inspiring.

One of the things we did was have an illustrator drawing the ideas "live" as they were being discussed during the event. We now have hundreds of great visuals to record the day (as well as social media and photo's of course!) but this one summed it up for me - the young people want to see the person and the service, and work alongside and in partnership with the police to make our communities safer.

Bottom line? It's all about relationships, respect, integrity - and smiling more!
