Crossing the scree slope
Today's five hour walk took us on little used paths mostly following the 1,300 metre contour but with lots of ups and down so we ended up doing more than 500 metres of cumulative ascent - we met no-one all day. The going underfoot was tricky at times but the views magnificent. I am not sure of the difference between a moraine and a scree slope although I know the former is glacial. There were plenty of wild flowers to inspect and the butterflies were out.
