Strange Flower

This is part of my birthday flower bouquet. It was just leaves but it has budded and now looks like it might flower.

I've got the feeling it's a rhododendron but I'm not very good with plants so I can't be sure. I didn't expect the leaves to last or the buds to develop and I really hope it does flower.
