Sunset in Calitzdorp

... after an amazing recital by this extraordinary man, Noel-Jean Criell, the resident organist in this small town in the Little Karoo (we'd left the Great Karoo yesterday, to pack up for the next 19 days of adventures that will take us to the Wild Coast, Limpopo and the Baviaanskloof. This man chose to retire here because it has the best organ in SA. He regularly tours Europe, has performed at the Edinburgh Festival. just back from Passau and Salzburg... So we chose to take in his daily evening recital here in the Dutch Reformed Church, hearing Corelli, Bach (Jesu, Joy ...), Handel, Boyce ... ending with his own 'Recessional'. On to the Eastern Cape, after a great meal we shared with the great man.
