For World Book Day 7.3.13
Just back from work after busy, busy day. Did manage lunch with my best friend in the whole world though; J from Stroud. Strange she started her life out here on the N.Shropshire/Cheshire border and then found Mr. Right, (eventually!) married him and then departed to his neck of the woods in Stroud. I, on the other hand started life out not too many miles away from Stroud and for the last 40 years have been happily settled in the beautiful County of N.Shrops. I don't see my lovely friend often enough so it was a rare treat to catch up and giggle for a whole hour, with a very small amount of eating and drinking thrown in for good measure.
Of course, that meant there was no time for blipping but having heard Tony Robinson (Author of 16 books for children and of Black Adder fame, to name but a few of his many attributes) on Radio 2 this morning talking about his role in WBD I thought that I could celebrate it in some small way it by blipping some books and as most of the books the Book People have left with us this time were childrens' books I hastily assembled a few and took a few shots of them.
I am going to purchase the little 'Complete Alice' library for Lily (only 2 and three quarters just now, but she's a bright kid so she'll grow into them!! and I will, of course, love reading them to her before then!). The little books are beautifully illustrated by Helen Oxenbury here
