Our girls...

revelling in the sunshine while we garden around them! They are lapping up the sun under the fruit bushes. The weight of the winter snows completely wrecked the fruit cage, giving them full access! The bushes are in no danger from the birds yet as there is no fruit. We are still deliberating as the best way forward to rectify the situation. In the meantime the hens  are keeping the grass and the weeds down.
I spent several hours in the garden fencing off another section from the hens so that I can plant some seeds and plants as soon as the nights are above freezing, hopefully soon. Tomorrow I hope to prepare the beds, check the forecasts and maybe start planting. Failing that I shall sit in the sun and plan the plots!
That sounds like a plan!
