Handy Men

My local Occupational Health team have very kindly agreed to fit a handrail to the steps in the back garden, so I can access our seating area, yaaaay!

Due to the fact I’m going to be with my frame until well into summer, it would be a shame not to be able to sit outside, so I’m really happy that this can be done.

It was a meeting of minds when the guy came round to measure up this morning; Mr A is still planning on widening the bottom four steps, so they spent a good while talking over the best way to approach it.

The plan is for Mr A to do the steps first, which he intends to do this weekend. Then, Tim (who did the handrail at the front of the house) will pop back next week to measure up. He wants the steps done first. If he measures now and it ends up being out by even just a couple of millimetres, not only will he get in trouble, but it risks pulling the steps up off the mortar when they bolt the frame down.
It turns out, Tim only lives around the corner from us, so he’s happy to nip back next week. The pressure is now on for Mr A to get his side of the bargain done in time. Fingers crossed for a dry weekend! :-)
