Hoping for Mirabelles

Six years ago today, P and I moved into our house.

The fist thing you saw when visiting us was the tiny front garden, dominated by a wonky evergreen tree, tied to three poles to hold it up, among a haphazardly thrown-together collection of more or less ornamental shrubs.

We got rid of the shrubbery and replaced the lopsided tree with a little mirabelle  plum tree, which has grown nicely in the last five years.

Right now, every one of its branches is covered in blossom. But the cold and windy weather keeps the bees away. I hope for at least a few fruit in summer, since I really love their sweet and aromatic taste.
