Doonfoot shore at low tide

This morning Gill and I walked along the shore at Doonfoot at low tide which enabled us to pass under the shadow of the ruined Greenan Castle.

This was taken from the clifftop beside the castle, looking down towards the town of Ayr. Can you see the two tiny figures on one of the sandbanks? They were walking four dogs between them.

"Auld Ayr, wham ne’er a town surpasses,
For honest men and bonny lasses." *

* according to Robert Burns in his poem 'Tam O'Shanter'

I'll be returning home tomorrow and hope to catch up with all your journals.
