Des Res

Today we've been back to Longshaw, this time to check the nest boxes in one of the woodlands. It was a lovely morning again. Some of the 25 or so boxes had already been claimed by blue tits, but we were lucky enough to see two of the newly arrived target species - Pied Flycatchers. they were a bit too mobile to get a photo, but hopefully when they find there preferred des res, they will be easier to photograph. They are a species that likes to use nest boxes and seem to be doing very well in our woodlands.
