Ready for winter

The glossy floral buds of a Pieris japonica, ready to add their warm tones to brighten the typical Blue Mtns cold winter.
The extra is also a Pieris, but a different cultivar, with whorls of yellow/ gold buds.
They make a nice pair close to one another.
