Rip off or what?

The battery died.
I didn't have the right tool for removing the back so I enquired at a branch of a well known shoe repairer which also advertises watch battery replacement.
" Certainly sir, £35 including a twelve month guarantee"!
 Knowing that watch batteries typically cost £2- £4, I queried the price.
"Well it's a good watch so it's more expensive to replace the battery".
I declined the offer and left.
Today I took the same watch to a locally owned small shop.
The cost including fitting £4 !!!
