Flower Friday: Tulips in our Wonky Wheelbarrow

Two years past December we decided to convert our almost-derelict wheelbarrow into a garden planter (see here, including the extra).

The hyacinths we planted then did well (see here) and as you can see today the tulips have come up well for their 3rd year too - there's more of them than ever this year. We read a while ago that some gardeners regard tulips as annuals on the basis that they don't usually do very well in subsequent years but these ones seem to be defying that concept.
