Holmwood House ...

... Old Cathcart. This magnificent A listed house was designed by the famous Glasgow architect Alexander Thomson in 1857 for paper magnate James Couper. It's one of his most admired creations. Although not a large house, it is particularly grand.
Holmwood House is maintained by the National Trust for Scotland and is currently closed but will hopefully be open again later this year.
