Thinking Back

Tulipa hageri, a single bulb recovered by accident from the old garden last year when it was dormant, I was digging for something else and this unlabelled stray came up.   I have blipped it before, six years ago almost to the day.   That was at the start of some of the most difficult years of my life so far although I had no idea then just how much drama lay ahead.   Just as well.

The day started very early for Jamie who was up to see the dawn with Katie, a change from the usual sunset jaunts.   He was very quiet getting out but I had been awake earlier and did hear him get up at 5am.   I didn't hear him return a couple of hours later after a memorable and happy outing.   He had a sleepy morning while I worked and shopped.   I managed to fit in a little garden clearance this afternoon before my mum and Chris came round bringing my sister Barbara with them.   B is here for a long weekend, staying in a Bed-and-no-breakfast.   We enjoyed tea and cake in the sunshine on the decking (more if Jamie's finest.)    this evening B, C and I walked Med up the Rhydyronen lane at sunset time.   A good day.
