Goldfinch 5/30

Goldfinches are my favourite small birds.  I feed them a considerable amount of expensive nyjer seed which disappears extremely quickly.  I've seen up to eight at a time on the feeder (or near it as they aren't good at sharing) so we must have been helping the population grow. In the summer they eat thistle and other small seeds along with insects when they are raising their young.
