First Egg

Proudly (and very excitedly) cradled by my granddaughter. 

Very much a 'journal' entry for me today. Today, my son and his family received three chickens that needed rehoming. My little granddaughters were so thrilled to be able to show them to me - and even more delighted when one of them produced an egg!

It was a lovely, sunny afternoon - and a real joy to be able to spend time in their garden without even needing to wear jackets!
