Many Names
Orange epimedium, also known as barrenwort, bishop's hat, fairy wings, horny goat weed, or yin yang huo. Some have rounded outer petals while others are pointy.
This is one of the hardest flowers for me to photograph. It's low to the ground and the flower heads are usually showing their backsides. Last year I blipped the yellow variety that we brought years ago from MIL's woodland garden. I like the extra vibrance with the orange touches here. They are all so tiny and delicate.
SK, Vivi, and I walked to Holbrook Hollows and back via SC5 today. It was cold and murky, but the walk warmed us up well.
Thanks for your visits, stars, and comments. All are appreciated. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
