Tilting Down

Yet another outing with the super wide lens, this time I experimented by varying the angle in relation to my subject. Pointing down, as in this example, really enlarges the foreground and diminishes distant objects. The rocks take up half the frame.

Also, reeds, trees, buildings and clouds lean progressively outwards left and right, warped by the lens distortion. The pebbles too are obviously elongated in the bottom corner.

What I did like about this shot was the reeds in the centre above the tree line which seemingly echo the stretched out cloud shapes.

Knowing one's tools is one thing, knowing when to use them is quite another. But that's for a future day.
