Getting there
I like the rambling and slightly out of hand nature of this area of my garden. I like that it's less than perfect because that's how life is. It's still beautiful and sanctuary for hpx and all who visit.
Overnight and early on today we received just shy of 18mm of rain. After mistakenly guessing the rain gauge held 10mm a week or so ago (it had 3mm), I double checked close up.
After 29 and 30 degree days in April, to 8 degrees when I got up this morning, I was a little shocked. Head to toe merino replaced shorts - but only until the sun came out. ;-)
Yesterday afternoon I shifted my car to deal with bins and accidentally left my parking lights on. Yep, flat battery. Something I haven't done since I was 17 years old.
My lovely neighbour (who happens to be my neighbour) popped back from work with something fancy that got my car going. The wierd dashboard messages have disappeared and during the week I'll pop by the garage and get the car battery checked.
I took today quietly and gave my brain a chance to recalibrate. Recovery won't be forever but for now it's what my neurons need.
Today's gratitude: For an autumn reality check. I enjoyed the sound of rain on the roof.
