A Morning Walk???
Got an early start this morning, 6am alarm, to get out early and start a walk before the screaming hoards were up and about. That seemed to work. Yeah, well getting to Whiteadder Reservoir was a wee bit problematic. Usually when I enter as destination into MapsMe and do a 'route to' it works perfectly. I did say 'usually' this morning for some reason known only to itself it had decided that we were walking, and tried to send us down some highly inappropriate byways - inappropriate for a car that is.

But back to the 'walk', Priestlaw Hill circular from Whiteadder Reservoir. Now I have in my many decades of life done some really boring walks, but this just has to go down as probably the most boring walk that I have ever done. Add to that the fact that we were walking through a landscape despoiled by those tossers of the shooting fraternity who can't even be arsed to take their rubbish, mainly shotgun cartridge cases, home with them. This is a landscape of grouse moors scarred by many made up tracks so that the lazy bastards don't even have to walk to the shooting butts. This is a landscape where huge swathes of heather are dead due to the 'management' of the moors as a 'playground' for wealthy wankers.

Part of the walk follows the Herring Road, followed by Dunbar fishwives taking the herring to market in Lauder some twenty eight miles distant. Ye gods they must have been fit women.
Edit
I have to say that, as ArcLight points out below, it was good to be able to get out in the fresh air (and it was fresh) for some - much needed - exercise. However that did not make it an any the less boring walk.
