Apple Surprise?

We don't really eat apples very much and so the apples which develop on our apple tree every year are either taken across the river to make cider or given to the blackbirds etc over the winter months. A few get missed though and just rot under the tree. Surprised to find one today which seems to be sprouting from its pips. We've planted it to see what develops.
More gardening today and a trip to Tesco and then a takeaway lunch. Not such a nice day, and even a bit of rain.
