The accidental finding

Marsh marigolds

GG and I went over to Cricklade North Meadow to see th snakeshead fritillaries. They're not really out in great profusion yet, but we had a good walk and found a plant sale/bookstall.

Next, we drove over to the nature reserve at Moor Farm and decided to walk from there to Clattinger farm, where CleanSteve and I saw the fritillaries on Wednesday. GG was hungry, but I'd only brought frittata and GG had accidentally given her picnic to her son, along with some Easter eggs and wine! Somehow the idea of a pub lunch arose. We walked along the path to the farm, passing through wooded areas and this ditch full of marsh marigolds. When we found the other end of the meadow where CleanSteve and I had been, GG didn't want to walk far, just wanted one photo of one fritillary, and then to head back. We didn't find any pubs with lunch, but stopped to buy a newspaper and some fancy gf biscuits. At this point GG realised that her bank card was missing.

We drove back at haste ( I got her shopping for her) and looked for the card, but it was truly lost. She called to cancel it, and we had lunch outside in her garden. Then, because it was not hailing or snowing this week, but sunny, we located a portable DVD player, and GG and I watched Hotel du Lac in the garden. I think we had both studied it at a class in the BC ( before Coronavirus) era. Good to see it again, though it's dated. BBC, 1986.

Later, after some faffing around with her printer, she took me home, and I was able to give her her birthday present early. It's a small multicoloured leather credit card wallet, with RFID protection. It seemed timely, given that she had lost her card because she had been carrying it in a kind of ancient foil sleeve, because it had RFID. (Like leaving a window open because you have a burglar alarm?)

Work tomorrow, oh no! But first, Line of Duty.
