Where there's a will ..........
We have a number of pheasants visit the garden regularly. One of the females seems to have more brain power than the others. She began by learning/working out that if she flew up onto the feeding ring the seed which fell from the feeder above was in greater quantity than that on the ground.
Now she has realised she can just and so reach the feeder and if she can give it a little nudge the feeder hole swings towards her.. Today she has been up there three times. None of the other females or the male even seem to notice there is anything up there above them. Clearly a candidate for the bird version of mensa.
