Whistlepig

Our groundhog/woodchuck/whistlepig/etc gave us a really good viewing this afternoon. S/he stood there for quite some time - a fair distance from the house, but fortunately photographable from the kitchen door. As soon as Bugsy noticed me focused on something, he shot out the door in case he could chase whatever it was. He never even noticed the groundhog though - apparently presuming that whatever I was looking at was up near the house rather than down by that shed. Gordo the Groundhog disappeared into the shed pretty much as soon as Bugs shot out the door. This creature is why we were having a bit of trouble with our vegetable garden last year. I guess we'll have the same problem this year. Sigh. It's very hard to keep them out of a vegetable garden as they can both climb and tunnel.
