Big day full of little jobs. Enjoyed planting a bit and tidying up winter debris.

When I look at the thin legs of a daddy-long-legs, I’m not particularly struck, but a Robin’s legs, they’re awesome. So so delicate. A phone camera doesn’t really do them justice.

We watched the funeral of Prince Philip. Lots to say and lots to think. The Queen ... she’s so wonderful and I do feel really sad for her. In the last decade, the Queen arrived in a helicopter at Capel Manor, an Agricultural College near here. We were part of a welcoming crowd. For some reason, Elbows and I were in a fairly jolly mood and as the Queen walked past us, Elbows said “The Queen has amazing legs”. She did. She does. But the crowd had gone quiet so many people heard his irreverent comment.
