Shirret

Pronounced Shur-ray. This is my latest adventure. This is another one that uses 3/4 inch strips of fabric to make rugs and other useful items out of scraps. It is a combination of shirring and crochet. It uses a hook to shirr on the fabric strips and then crochet them off with a cord. The cord ends up in the center of the strip so you never see it. The strips stand on end and create a very soft, plush fabric. You can read more about it here. I have the book and the hook for it, and now just have to teach myself how to do it. Stay tuned!
