Amelanchier
Y’know I think I may have sat in the sun for most of the day, as I can’t really remember anything else. Didn’t even watch the Duke’s funeral at the time.
Later there was a round of correspondence as the WBBW want to put a sign up on the harbour beach telling kayakers and people on SUPs (I had to look that up) to stay away from the seal pontoon. I’m sure it was originally supposed to be a seabird pontoon.
Later, Sound of Metal, with Riz Ahmed in great form. The nightmare of losing your hearing was pretty brilliantly captured in a way that made it feel very real indeed. Horrendously claustrophobic, in a way that only blindness could rival, but I guess that might not exactly be such a cinematic experience. And writing that, I suddenly remembered The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
